6-Week Stop Motion Animation Course For 12 - 15 Year Olds

Through collaborative storytelling and stop motion animation, students will design characters, construct sets, animate movement frame by frame, and work together as a creative production team.

Story To Animate: The Rhythm Of The Sea

A fisherman’s gramophone is sent tumbling deep beneath the waves, sinking slowly towards the dark ocean floor. As it falls through the water, it passes strange sea creatures moving stiffly and mechanically through the silent sea. When a curious octopus accidentally knocks the needle into place, music suddenly fills the sea for the very first time, bringing rhythm and movement to the creatures below. As the sea comes alive with flowing motion and energy, the old fisherman stands silently beside his boat before slowly turning and walking robotically back towards his house. It becomes clear that the rhythm once carried by his music now belongs to the sea.
